I had the privilege of traveling to France for a couple of weeks at the end of wedding season. It was my first time visiting this country. As it might be expected, I spent a lot of time in and around Paris. My entire first week in fact. I fell in love with Montmartre. I went for a run or walk every morning around the Jardin du Luxembourg. I took a train just outside the city to Versailles. One day though, I traveled further north to Giverny to visit Claude Monet's home. I felt like I was living in his paintings. I spent so much time studying his painting it felt like I was returning to a childhood home I knew well but hadn't been to in decades, Even though it was the end of October, the gardens were beautiful and full of life. Dahlias towered over my head, salvia and rudbeckia still bloomed, and narrow paths popped out of wild nasturtium. Inside his house were more Monet studies in one room than I will ever find anywhere else. After a week, Kaella Lynn Events and Amanda Vidmar Design joined me in a small town called Orange in Provence. Our hosts at Villa Aurenjo were excellent company at night when we would wind down around the fire pit. We created a stunning editorial, shopped at markets, drank some wine, and unintentionally made up words as we struggled through the language barrier as best as we could. Bon suit could catch on...
